KoolSuite introduces the classification to Tags in SuiteCRM.
Tags are stored in the kt_KoolSuite_Tags module. The module is not visible in the menus.
The administrator can decide on which modules to activate the tag classification.
It can also decide whether users can independently insert new tags or if they will have to categorize by selecting from the list of Tags entered by the administrator.
Tags are global. There are no specific tags for a particular module.
Tags list management
You can access the Tags management from the administration section: Administration >> KoolSuite Settinge >> KoolSuite Tags.
On this page you can manage the list of global tags for all modules on which the Tags function has been activated.
- add a new tag
- delete tags
- select a color for each tag
Changing a name or deleting a tag can lose the match with records that had that particular tag. It is similar to what happens in the Dropdown management of the CRM.
Allow users to insert new Tags
Still on the page, you can decide with a checkbox if users will be able to insert new tags or only choose from the list set up on this page.
Even if the self-inserting function is enabled, KoolSuite always has a handy autocomplete function to select from existing Tags.
Activate the Tags function on a module
To activate the Tag categorization functionality in a form, simply insert a new MultiSelect type field in the form
- Go to Studio: Administration >> Studio
- Select the module in which you want to activate the functionality
- Select Fields >> Add Field
- Add a field of type MultiSelect
- The name of the field should be: Tags
The field has been created and the activation procedure of the Tags function in the form is finished: users will be able to use the function in the form.
Do not insert the Tags field in the EditiView, DetailView, Filter masks: KoolSuite independently manages the interface of the Tags function.
Display of Tags in listView
It is possible, from Studio, to insert the Tags field in the list view, ListView, in order to list the tags of the records in the list with the set colors
